2nd day of swim lesson. SOOOOOOOO fun! My instructor, Howard taught me how to dive and then position my body prone on the floor of the pool! Yes, just like a stingray! Way cool!!!
Did it in the 2m+ pool... will try in the 5m pool soon...
Though I felt the squeeze in my ears and all, I was doing it over and over again. Still not perfect yet, but it's getting there.
I could do the sitting position with no problem. :)
Can't wait till my next session. That would of course be next week because tomorrow my first confined dive, and then hopefully Sunday, my first open dive!
But my knowledge review session didn't go as well... I couldn't finish reading all 5 chapters, so my diving instructor was kinda disturbed... but he assured me that I need not actually cover everything one go... just be familiar with some of the basics.
So he made me promise to watch the remaining 3 CDs tonight before the confined dive tomorrow. :) Hehe. So funny. Luckily he DIDN'T make me lock my little finger with him just now to seal the deal. :)
Back to my swimming. Howard said that I should now concentrate on my diving and later after everything, he would teach the proper techniques of freestyle (actual name/term is frontal crawl) and also breast stroke (a.k.a. survival stroke).
That's it. I'm still staying up for Germany vs. Argentina match tonight. I'm of course rooting for the South Americans. :)
Cheers!

I'm a stingray today!
Chain email
Funny also la. The video looked kinda old fashion. Reminded me of Hawaii Five-O, Matlock, TJ Hooker and Hunter. But those were my favourite shows growing up.
Thought of skipping the the first few chapters and read on the injuries/accident part. More interesting.
I guess diving is one of those skills acquired best through kinesthetic learning, like most things in medicine.
Anyways, got this from a chain email. I never usually open any fwd: mail but this came from a Form 3 boy I met recently, so I wondered what schoolboy these days would forward... surprise, surprise!
Find a guy, who calls you beautiful instead of hot.
Who calls you back when you hang up on him.
Who will stay awake just to watch you sleep.
Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead.
Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats.
Who holds your hand in front of his friends.
Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you.
Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, "...that's her."
Muahahahah!
Haha. Don't mean to be mean. But then again, maybe he DIDN'T read it, and just perpetuated the chain unwittingly. :)Thursday, 29 June 2006
I have excellent buoyancy!
Dugged out this picture from one of my 20 over CDs worth of pictures to find the perfect one to describe my disposition today! :) Taken back in 2003 in Malacca during my backpacking trip of west Malaysia with my coursemates... one of the best times of my life!
Enjoyed my 1st swimming lesson today! Liked the instructor very much, very clear, very encouraging, very respectful.
I breezed through the water confidence and water skills, so he was actually teaching me how to dive... but I declined going for the 15m dive today... a bit daunting... 5m will do today. Didn't aspirate or ingest as much water as I expected.
But seriously I enjoyed the breathing exercises and the warming up techniques the most... I'm very sure will improve my lung function in no time. :) Hmmm... must look for a place nearby a swimming pool when I work in KK in August.
I felt like I was born for the waters! Hehe. :)
Didn't read as much of the scuba manual as I planned today because I forgot I promised mum to help her and dad out the church's religious article centre because there were new items coming in so they needed the extra hand in getting them ready for sale this weekend... so was there the whole morning through lunch... only got back 2.30pm, then rushed over to Stampark for the swim lesson.
Nevermind, I will invoke the medical-student-burning-the-midnight-oil powers tonight. After all I'll be staying up for my Marcos Bagdhatis, who will be in action on Court 3. :)
Ok. Better stop here. Manual time. Cheers people!

It's happening!
Yay! I've got the ball rolling.
Will start swimming lesson tomorrow, and then scuba diving lesson on Saturday!
Before that, 4 CDs and a manual on scuba diving to finish by Friday. Feels like I'm back in uni. :)
The manual actually has the same layout as the PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) and NALS (Neonatal equivalent of PALS) manuals...
Bought myself a new swim suit and a pair of goggles with degree. Got them at discount prices because of sales in Parkson. Cool. Got the suit because I don't actually have a proper/normal suit, you know the sleeveless one... I have a wet suit with sleeves (for snorkeling I bought 3 years ago), but don't want to look out of place in the pool tomorrow. Heh.
I'm very excited!
The only think is that now I might have to scrap my KL trip because of new expenses that have come up. I have no problem with that though.
I'm doing something that I've once dreamt of doing... so I sort of have Brenda to thank for sort of rekindling that interest again. :)
Met our instructor-to-be for a little briefing just now. Not very impressed because he smokes and had a thyroid stare... buuutt he's a talker (a little fidgety... but no goiter, and didn't seem irritable), and I can see that he's sincere and very passionate about scuba diving and all. I just hope that he's reliable, and safe. :)
Initially when he suggested we start Saturday, I was very apprehensive, but you know after a minute or two, I figured that it's now or never you know, so I told him ok!
After all, my holiday would be over in no time, and I really think that I'm going to spend my next 3 years or so in Sabah. :)
Will sleep early tonight, no match. Wimbledon still in its early (and can be quite boring) stages. Sharapova and Smashnova slugging it out now. Not exciting at all.
When it comes to tennis, I'm sexist. I don't enjoy watching women tennis. They don't look graceful like their male counterparts. It's fun to play I know because I'm a tennis buff, but it's just boring to watch.
Ok. Enough.
p/s: Picture of Miss Jelly taking shelter under mum's dustpan... cute.

Scuba diving... check. :)
Ok. I've definitely decided to go take up scuba diving! :) I went to Stampark this afternoon to check out the swimming lessons... I've decided to take a refresher course because of my dad's lack of confidence, which I think has its merits. And I should actually learn...
Oh shit. Brazil just scored! I think Ghana's going to eat a doughnut tonight. Muntari's so cute. :)
I was saying that I should formally learn swimming. I know I can swim but I'm not very sure about swimming in the open sea, and what more diving deep, deep into the water.
Dad's pleased with my initiative. Good sign. :)
He's even suggested that I look up my uncle who used to be an instructor for any advice/tips...
Will arrange my swimming lessons tomorrow. Waiting for Adeline's response. She's very interested, but not sure whether she'll get permission from her dad.
Chris, I'll be able to go scuba-diving with you soon! :)
Ok, stop here. Want to watch Ghana make doughnuts. That's mean. I'll support them tonight la. I'm the underdog person after all.
Adriano just got yellow-carded for diving. Muahahah!
Nitey!
p/s: Lampard's still my man, despite what the critics say.
Feline tiff (Part II)
For Part I, check this entry in April:
Yes, Parasite's still around. He's more of a regular fixture nowadays even though we didn't exactly adopt him. He comes to the house 2-3 times a day for his meals, and dad was saying that now he's buying Friskies in increased frequency.
Parasite doesn't mind his daily tiffs with Miss Jelly, and near death experiences with Pheobs.
He's quite a charmer you know.
Sleeping arrangement
Now that I'm on my holidays I get to sleep in every morning. Mum and dad usually leave home 9am for breakfast. Pheobe's on permanent holiday so she sleeps in every morning. She actually sleeps with mum every night in the master on a queen. My dad sleeps on the floor now... Then when mum and dad leaves the house in the morning, she would run over to my room and sleep on top of me because my single is too small for the both of us.
If she can't sleep on me or with me on the bed, then she will wail and throw a tantrum.
Solution (mum's idea): I move over to my parent's room before just before they leave the house.
So mum would wake me up before they leave, and I half asleep, will pull my blanket and pillow and make my way to the master with my eyes still close... just to continue my sleep-in and so that Pheobe's not alone (and won't bother me), with plenty of room on the queen.
We both very happy. :)
Another picture from Kuala Salak
Thanks Joel for the pictures! He has the marine pack for his Cybershot... so he got to take more pics that day. :)
See how calm the water was... hahhh... heaven.

Wimbledon 2006 begins today
My parents bought a new desktop last week to meet the demands of our very internet savvy family... to fully utilize our 24-hr unlimited broadband internet access, and to bring to end our constant bickering/competition/waiting to use the internet.
I have my own laptop but we didn't have a router then... so now the house is more peaceful and the atmosphere is more purposeful. Pheobe's happier too. But dad's still trying to get us to reaarange the rather chaotic arrangement of the terminals.
Maybe when all the excitement's tonned down a little...
Today is Day 1 of Wimbledon. Bagdathis' playing. Hope he pulls something interesting from his bag of tricks to bring that magic into MY life again like in Melbourne Park. :)
Asked my parents about scuba-diving lessons. Dad's first response was, "But you can't swim!"
And mum's was "But you won't have time when you start work later!"
I CAN SWIM. I've just never been given the opportunity to drown or save a drowning person. I know I'll be super busy with work soon, but that doesn't mean my life ends there right?
Justified. :)
But basically they agreed, but their hesitation has triggered some more brain activity on my part, so I think I need a day or two more to think about it.
Exciting huh? I imagine myself diving in divers' haven Sabah!
Hehe... *evil* I'm plotting to get myself a new camera, a water-resistant one. I just can't stand the high-maintenence of my Ixus 60. The body's scratched like it's a couple of years old (it's only 2 months old) and the button markings are already scraped off... mechanism of action postulated: rough handling.
Ixus is gorgeous really, but apparently not for me. I loved Kee Hoe's shockproof and waterproof Olympus 720 SW! WIth image stabilization! *dreamy*
Planning a Miri trip. I want to use bus, but dad's not keen. Wants me to fly to accompany mum. Maybe will compromise. Bus KCH-MYY, then fly MYY-KCH.
What's in Miri? Relatives, city status, nice shopping complexes (so I heard) and Philip! Hehe... nah.
Just thought of the bus trip. Hoping an adventure out of it. And take lots and lots of pictures.
Accompanied Jo to Skin Clinic at SGH this morning for her patch test. The nurse didn't allow any spectator so didn't get to see the procedure. Nothing much la Jo said, just lots of tapping on her back. Now she's just worried about how's she going to avoid sweating until Friday. She teaches at a secondary school in Asajaya...
Oh ya, the roti canai at Pee Jay Corner at Satok is yummy!
Ok. Australia vs. Italy match looks quite exciting... will stop here.
Cheers!

An experience of a lifetime!

It's my second time around kayaking in the open sea... the first was many, many years ago... can't even remember where I kayaked... this time is Kuala Salak, some 15-20mins drive from Kuching. One of 3 places in Kuching known to be inhabited by the dolphins. Nice beach... definitiely cleaner and more beautiful than Siar Beach, any given time.

All the limelight should go to the Irrawaddy dolphins, who remained elusive until after one hour in the water. They didn't stay very long, only long enough to check us out, and decide that we were not interesting enough to stay around for...

The view of the surrounding mountains and highlands were quite spectacular... you know, it gave me one of those life is beautiful kind of moment. :) It's been a while since the last time I felt that way... That's Azmi, my guide behind navigating.

With Min Yen and Brenda, both former schoolmates...

Min Yen and Bren...

New friends... Nicholas, Joel and Yong Syn....

One gross thing though. I had to (after 30mins of intense anguish and suffering) pee in the boat. I know, I know gross, but what to do... we were in the water for more than 3 hours. But I didn't follow Min Yen's squatting pee position she demonstrated on her boat. Too dramatic. I just forced myself to pee quietly.

Azmi and I anchored our kayak next to a fisherman's boat, and checked out his spoil.

Not bad, not bad.

Was sooo tired after that I dozed off in front of the telly. I'm sure I was smilling... Would definitely go for another kayak trip again. Thinking of the rainforest adventure. :)
But the dolphin-watching is a must guys, at least once.
Anyone interested to join me for the rainforest adventure? Let me know...
Check out Kuching Kayak Sdn. Bhd. for more info.
Thanks Francis and team for the wonderful experience!
Cheers!
Germany vs. Sweden 2-0???
I was packing my stuff for tomorrow's dolphin-watching, so I was just 13mins late switching on the telly to watch the Germany vs. Sweden match!
The Germans are freaking leading 2-0 at 13mins into the first half! OMG! What happened to Sweden??? Dad's going to flip tomorrow morning when he checks the website for the results!
For reasons unclear to me, he hates the German team.
Unless of course the Swedes do something amazing the next 60mins or so...
My Korea was thrashed last night. :( There goes any hope of sepet players in the World Cup.
Anyways, the photo above was originally taken because I was amused by a cute little froggie swimming inside... he looked like he was just taking a relaxing swim in his pool in his backyard or something.
It's a pond at St. Peter's church, which was home to some 30 Japanese carps... last week, they were systematically abducted in broad daylight.
The parish priest announced it after mass just now. He said that the perpetrators (3 men in their 30's) were seen coming in and out of the church compound in a white kancil. They managed to steal 27 carps in all in 2 separate times in a span of 3 days.
I was told that each carp could fetch up to RM300/-!
The funny thing was that only the black and white carps were spared. So the thieves were kinda racist? :)
It's funny initially this fish kidnapping incident... but now when I come to think of it, I wish I could disarticulate the thieves' hands from their forearms nicely... without anaesthesia.
I hope they at least treat the poor fishies right. Hope they don't decide to barbeque them or something...
Ok. Better finish up and sleep early... maybe watch a few minutes of the 2nd half. Joel's picking me at 6.15am! OMG, that's early, but that's ok... I'm going to see some doplhins tomorrow!
Sleep tight people!

Brief drought
Our water supply got cut from 3pm to around 8pm just now (technically yesterday). The water board sent a truck with supply around 6.30pm. Caught us off guard because we didn't get any notice... gave us a scare actually because we thought we might be cut till the next day, because it's the first time a water truck's been to my housing area... there had been cuts before, but never once I've seen a water truck in front of my house. While people were busy with collecting the water, I was busy snapping pictures. :)
Blogging now 3am waiting for KOR vs SUI and FRA vs. TOG matches. :)
Had my SPA interview this morning. Sap, sap soi. Means peanuts la. Didn't ask me anything academic or anything which required too much inteligence. :) Only lasted about 10mins. We had a fat SPA representative and a cute doctor from the hospital side. :)
I thought I was the only one who thought the doctor was kinda cute until Hema started drooling talking about him. Ewww... so gatal. She's off to JB in... like 5 hours time. Have fun girl!
Chris is in Chiang Mai! Wish I was doing some traveling....
But I'm going dolphin-watching Sunday!!! Can't wait!
I became a little disturbed just now thinking whether I would be fit enough to kayak 2/3 hours...
*YAWN*
Don't think I'll be able to finish 1st half...
KOREA!!!

Patriotism my way
I love the football analog clock. So cute. Removed all the medicine-related links. Decided also only to have only 2 days worth of posts on the current page, so reduce page loading time. So for those who missed my older posts... don't be shy to go through the archives. :) Hehe. So perasan.
Anyways, I'm feeling much chirpier today. I had a really bad bout of dymenorrhoea the whole of yesterday. Spoilt my day and spoilt some of my plans. Even this morning, still felt the discomfort and some bilatral lower limb weakness, so decided against (again) my very, very overdued movie marathon. It's something I've always liked during my end of posting holidays when I was still studying... I would hang out in the cinema (on a movie day) the whole afternoon, and catch 2 or 3 consecutive movies...
Will be having my SPA interview this Friday. Kee Hoe called just now to inform that over in Putrajaya, my other colleagues, who went for their interviews this morning, were asked about 9MP (nope, not 9 Megapixels) and some medical related things going on in our country... of course I didn't know shit about the Ninth Malaysian Plan (9MP)... so now surfing the web a bit for some info. Downloaded some organization chart of the Health Ministry. Hope they don't ask me whether I've registered for voting. *aiks*
I'm patriotic ok. Don't say I'm not. I'm patriotic when it comes to the Thomas Cup. That should count for something. I have no sense whatever when it comes to local politics. I thought my colleagues from semenanjung were more excited about the recent state election at my place than me. :)
Tell you a secret. One of the main 3 reasons why I decided against pursuing journalism was just this. I just cannot be a journalist/reporter in this country without being politically literate. Everything was politic... down to the size of a minister's picture on the 2nd page of the daily paper.
I just can't be bothered sometimes to sit down and try to understand politics. Sometimes, when I'm in the mood for some challenge, I would sit down and talk and talk to someone who's into politics, hoping to find something that would appeal to me. But nada. Maybe, nobody's a talker enough to impress/convince me.
I also don't find stupid jokes about politicians funny or amusing. I respect them because I see them as social workers. So if they deliver, then I will vote for them (when I finally register later...) Heh.
Good news. Kayaking this weekend! Just need to wait for confrmation from June or Min Yen. So happy! And I didn't even need to make the arrangements myself! Thanks June! I was giving up a little earlier because I thought I couldn't find a group to go with... :)
Oh another good news! Sue Yii just got engaged over the weekend! Congratulations girl! Very happy for this ex-roomie of mine back in UNIMAS. Don't be disturbed.. but I thought your fiance looked like the former MY Dr. Teh! In passing la... ehehe. :)
No pictures this time. I love to post pictures, but sometimes I'm itching to just write. :)
Owen's out with ruptured ACL. Yikes.

Nah, picture. :) He'll be out at least 6 months with ACL rupture. Bad, bad injury...
I'm waiting for the Holland vs. Argentina match. I know both already through to the next round, just want to watch the match. Expect it to be exciting!
Cheers people!

Corpus Christi
Mum and congregation getting their candles ready for the procession at St. Peter's Church, Kuching...
Candlelight procession
Corpus christi procession outside St. Peter's Church, Kuching... this was taken around 7pm...
Still intact
Nail art still looking perfect in spite of all the cooking and washing today. :) But have to remove them before Friday for my SPA interview... seriously I would leave them on even for the interview, but seriously, I won't pass my parents before the interview if I don't...
"Curry Leaf"
My parents have a nick name for Pheob's ears... "curry leaf", just because my dad said they look like curry leaves (???) and then one time I kissed Pheobs one her whiskers, and thought they felt like rambutan... so hence, now that part of her anatomy is "rambutan"! My parents and I sort of have our little language/baby talk... I sometimes wonder when will all this "baby talk" ever stop... it's funny because I'm like already a quarter of a century old.... :) But honestly I don't want it to stop... I want to feel like a little girl forever...
Pheob's and Stryker's Dinner
This is what my 2 very lucky dogs have for dinner everyday... fried chicken or roasted chicken... mum would season them overnight (salt & pepper, honey, HP sauce, lime, etc.)... then dad would debone them before actually "serving" it with rice to the 2 bums. :)
Family Picnic
Was driving along Rubber Road with mum when we spotted this cat family hanging out by the roadside, beside (about 3-4metres away from the main road).... a VERY, VERY busy road... a bit disturbed... poor stupid and innocent kitten may wander to the main road... and tadah, squashed kitten!... made mum snap this picture because I was driving. :)
Corpus Christi
St. Peter's Church, Kuching all dolled up for Corpus Christi... love the lighthing... but was a little taken aback with the colour combination of the floral carpet along the aisle of the church... yellow and and green... very hindu temple-ish...

Jelly the Snake Wrangler, WC Virus, New Hobby & Satok Sunday Market
But first reaction was to locate my camera and run after her.
She brought the poor snake to the backyard and started playing with the reptile, pinning the poor fellow to the ground and continuously pawing its head. Despite my nature of always saving some critters in distress, I continued to snake and watch the poor thing suffer.
I've turned into a hardcore papparazi.
But I did scream for my dad to save it, while continuing pressing the shutter. :)
But dad said it was it was almost certainly dead by the time he got to the scene.
And then Stryker, my blind dog, started poking his nose around and suddenly got a little agressive because he wanted the credit of catching the snake. The pets in my house are usually like that... they like to catch stuff and bring them home to show off, especially to my dad.

Snake pinned to the ground.

Snake trying, in vain, to escape... almost got away into the pipeline if it weren't for Stryker interfering...

Stryker gave Jelly a little nip on her ear, which sent her wailing, and ran off with the snake... cool picture eh? :)

Cause of death: Severe trauma due to unprofessional snake wrangling techniques. Mode of death: Accidental
.
.
.
I caught the World Cup Fever too. Ever since the Japan vs. Australia match, I haven't missed a match... favourite so far... Argentina's thrashing of Serbia and Montenegro... and Ghana's outplaying of the Czech Republic!
I was thinking that I'm really very, very lucky... I get to watch the French Open, World Cup and very soon, Wimbledon, in succession during my hols! Now I'm really glad I didn't plan any trips...
I've also picked up somewhat a new hobby... to keep me occupied in those in between times when the matches are a bit dull... nail-painting! But need to perfect my techniques further to get slicker and cleaner results...

Was attempting to paint Portugal colours, but turned out more like Italian colours no? The orange turned out a bit redder than I expected... next time single coat will do.

The toes got at least 6 coatings!

The black dots didn't quite add the special something I was hoping for.
.
.
.
Then last night my parents were invited to some dinner, sis was out, I was stucked at home with no dinner, no transport, and still too early for footie, so under the drizzle, made my way to the Satok Sunday Market on foot. Used to do this more often when I was still studying...
Purpose: to test my night scene mode on my Ixus 60, and buy dinner.

The hawker stalls... very smokey because of all the barbequeing that was going on...

The weekend market proper... got some fruits and went to check out the animal section... couldn't find lettuce in the whole freaking market though.

Nicey... lurve my Ixus. *muah*
Finally got home. Didn't get my dinner. Had cucumber salad at home instead. But still very happy. :)
Cheers!

My SPA interview pushed to 23rd JUNE
Some updates. My SPA interview is pushed from 21st JUNE to 23rd JUNE. And I think the rest of us on the 21st the same too because the SPA people called me thrice today. First to inform me that my interview date was changed... then 2nd time to ask me to inform Fiona, and then the 3rd time, around 5pm... to contact Mee Ing, Kee Hoe, Tat Sin and Chiun Pheng. Managed only to inform Mee Ing and Tat Sin for sure.... the rest are in China, so I'll contact them on the 18 when they come back. I did send a sms to Alex to inform Fiona, but no reply.
Then Adeline called just now to ask whether I was interested to join a Rheumatology update this weekend. It was an immediate "NO"... I also surprised myself just now when the answer came out some swiftly and almost spinal cord reflex speed. :) I guess I'm academophobic at the moment. :) But she's going.
Then Hema and I joined a group for futsal at 8pm just now... boy it was fast! The girls in the group are super fast, rough and really, really good. Felt a bit inferior, and I was particularly worried that I might be a bit too rough because sometimes it's not about being aggressive to be rough, but by simply being unskillful, one can be unintentionedly rough. And I was wheezing about 40mins into the game... so unfit... :(... need to up my skipping.
OMG! Gerrard just scored a beauty! "A typical Steven Gerrard goal!" exclaimed the commentor...
Yeah, that's really nice... Worth my 90mins watching the match.
OMG. I just checked out Crouch's profile... he's my age! And 198cm tall!!!! I'm like 163cm? Muahahahaha! And he looks like he has Bell's Palsy in his profile pic. Ok I'm mean because I pick on freaks. Muahahahahha! Sorry. :)
So full time 2-0 to England. Phew for them. All the hype about them... but credits to Trinidad and Tobago for giving them a hard time.
MY "Man of the Match" was Frank Lampard.... just unfortunate for him that luck was not with him.
Sleep well people. :)
Wednesday, 14 June 2006
Yak.
And I shouldn't start it because I'm sure I won't be having much time to update anything when I start working later... an avenue to bitch is sufficient. :)
I overskipped today and now my left sole is hurting, the maximal tenderness elicited just until my left little toe. But it gave me a good work out today. I can't wait for tomorrow night's futsal. Miss it terribly since Siar beach.
But the thing is I'm not losing weight. My parents claim that I eat a lot... but when I compare to the times when I was still studying, I'm actually consuming less now... hmmm... it's tedious to calculate the calories... tried it once, and that lasted only for about 2 weeks...
And I noticed that when I start counting the calories, I get depressed... so...
I mean can you imagine counting the calories of 2 pieces of Jacob's cream crackers (about 20 calories each)? And a cup of coffee with a teaspoon of sugar and non-dairy creamer (about 40 calories)?
I don't think diabetics can live like that too... it's inhumane...
I wake up late (say around 9-10am) and have brunch (usually noodles, siow bee, pau or some kuih, with a cup of coffee)... then maybe around 2-3pm, I have a slice of bread or a bowl of cereals.... then have typical chinese dinner around 6.30pm (rice, vege, meat)... portion... I would say small to average... I don't usually eat supper unless I stay up super late. I rarely munch on potatoe chips or other junk food, because we just don't buy them... I usualy have a bowl of cereals with milk, sometimes to relieve my dyspepsia.
But oh... I do have one vice... ICE-CREAM!!! I eat them when I'm out shopping or something... sometimes dad would buy a tub...
But then again, how much ice-cream can one overeat without feeling sick after?
Ah well...
Visited my grandpa today... he's like 89 this year. He's deteriorating... but unfortunately too slowly... I just hope he's not suffering too much. My uncle and my dad had differing opinions regarding whether my grandpa was suffering or not.
I just thought that I won't want to live to that extremely ripe age. Pruned. And very helpless.
Geriatrics not my thing.

My grandpa's feet all oedematous because he refuses to sleep supine like normal people... he wants to sleep on his side and with his legs dangling from the side of the bed.

Portraits of my great, great grandfather, Chin Sam (centre), my great grandfather, Thomas Chin, and my great grandmother, Esther Ha.

My grandpa's kaloi... I think they call "her" ang moh cah bo (caucasian lady)... for obvious reasons.

Grandpa's helper's turtle... he tried to snap my finger.
.
.
.
Here's aglimpse of my pseudonew phone (left, duh) and mum's actual new phone...

I find the "smartphone" very handy... specially love the note, memo and calender features... not really into its 1.3MP camera... cause I have my Ixus 60... unless of course it's like mum's N71 2 lenses (the extra one for self-portrait)... which I LIKE!!! Another superb cam-whoring experience! I caught mum cam-whoring at grandpa's just now... *jealous*
.

Ok, before I sign off, check this video of Pheobs and her new leash. :) Good night people!

TESTING: Posting picture to blog through Flickr
If this works, then it's super cool! :)
p/s: Pic of me getting an afternoon nap with Pheobs. :) She's heeaaavyy.
Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com
Pheobe's a bum

That's Pheobs very unhappy with her leash...
So she threw a tantrum!

"Stupid leash!"

"F**king leash!"

"That's a workout..."
But she's not getting off that easily...

I had to personally carry her out to the porch, and out the front gate...
And that's where she remained... refused to budge an inch... even put up a struggle...

"It's hot! It's hot!"

"Come on, I'm burning!"

"If that's how you want to play it... take this!"

"See how yucky the ground outside the gate is!"

"Please, please...."

"Exercise is just not not my thing..."

"You know the term exercise-resistant?"

"How'd you like it if someone make you bungee jump?"
I give up. Did my skipping and boxing instead. *Mum and dad laughing in the background* :(
I'm just worried that Pheobs might get a coronary.
Tomorrow is another day. :) Not wasting my money just like that for the leash.
