Testing email feature

It works!

I'm trying out this email feature of blogger.com.... if it works it's pretty cool.... I can actually update my blog by email... no need to open up the the website....

How about pictures?

Pheobe is also rather reluctant to part with our friends... but I'm convincing her that they are going to a place where they'll be loved as much too...

So we just got back from the clinic and brunch... it was decided that my dad need not be on any medication... he's going to start on diet control and exercise, and he seemed very happy about that... he shared later that he felt like he was given a 2nd chance... I'm glad... I always knew that he didn't really need to be on pills and all... it's his lifestyle that needs to be modified, but he can be so stubborn sometimes... And he never actually do anything when he had high cholesterol 3 years back.... and he went immediately on a statin... and now he needed a 3rd party to convince him that if he control his diet and do a little cardio workout, he may be able to control his TC (Total Cholesterol) and LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein)? I'm sure he'll be the same too even when I'm practising later... *sigh*

I'm still marveling at the First Aid kit that Sarah and I stocked up Saturday... I thought it's cool... it's silly but it's a first experience for me even as a medical student! I was never in Red Crescent or anything of that sort in school, so never actually held or utilized a First Aid kit! *shy*

So what are the essentials? (I think more for camping and outdoorsy activities)

  1. Oral medications: paracetamol, painkillers (eg. NSAIDs), anti-histamines (for itchiness), antacids, oral rehydration salts
  2. Topical medications: hydrocortisone cream (for skin allergies), antiseptic ointment, cleaning agents (eg. alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, normal saline)
  3. For cuts & wounds: sterile dressing, band aids, bandage, gauze, cotton wool, Q-tips
  4. Others: thermometer, latex gloves, cold packs, scissors, tweezers, torch, lighter/matches, safety pins, lubricants

I was wondering whether I should bring my stethoscope?

We were on the way down from 3rd mile area when we spotted this area along Jalan Keretapi... what a haven for Aedes mosquitoes! *sigh* And it's in the heart of a heavily populated housing area! So I'm expecting to see some patients in for dengue fever anytime...

I didn't get to study last night... couldn't keep my eyes open even for my CSIs... so after this maybe I'm going shopping with mum at Saberkas... then later study, then tonight we're going for mass (All Saints Day tomorrow)... I told my parents that I would spend my whole day in the hospital tomorrow since today I'm not going...

My dad has been ruminating about the puppy that Jo offered us yesterday... I think she said it's from a litter from her cousin's bitch... it's a Dalmatian mix... and my dad was all dreamy about having another at home, but my mum quickly burst his thought bubble just now... hehe... we have very little space in the house and our compound is already owned by Stryker, our 14-year-old mongrel, who's blind and very stingy... and the house is already owned by Pheobe... so my mum and I really don't think that's there's enough space for another brat.

Cheers!

p/s: Happy Birthday Wendy!

(this picture taken also during Wendy birthday I think in 2001, when I paid them a visit in KL... it was in MacDonald's near Petaling Street)

I just got home from my little coffee session with Geryl which extended into a window shopping and dinner session, which was great! I had a lovely time... thanks pal! It's always so nice to have someone who's very knowledgeable to chat with... Geryl is that type of person who is very wise I would say, very insightful, humble and most of all very gentleman! So to all my girlfriends out there looking for a nice guy... look no further! Hehe... Don't have his pictures though, because he looked a bit weary and tired just now so I didn't have the heart to snap him because I'm sure eventhough he said that he didn't mind... everyone has their vain sides, right? Hehe... But you could check him out on his blog... he's on my links on the side panel...

I was thinking about my move to blogspot... it's making me a little bit lazy to write because I can post pictures so easily! But it would actually realize my dream of a photo journal I once wanted to start... but it never really kicked off... that was after I bought my Sony Cybershot P2 in 2002. So maybe now less whinning and less of paragraph after paragraph of just words... *Thinking*

Tomorrow I'm bringing my dad to the clinic at gunpoint... he refused to get prescription for his hypercholestrolaemia... I was nagging him (took over from my mum) this morning, so he finally agreed to go tomorrow... and partly because I'll be going with him. Hmmph! So that means no paeds ward for me tomorrow morning... won't be able to see MY Dr. Teh. And won't be able to bring all the stuff toys I've washed for the last 2 days... it has to be on Tuesday then... I bought I think five 2nd hand teddy bears (still in pristine conditions!) and washed them in the washing machine.... plus another 2 of my own teddy bears... planning to put all of them in the play room in the paeds oncology ward... they have this special play room there...

I bought another sleeping bag just now... cost me RM44/-! Luckily Geryl sent me home, and my parents went to church, because my parents would actually scream at me if they saw me carrying into the house a new sleeping bag! I already have one but it's very thin... so since I'm going for the camp this Thursday, thought it was high time to get a new one... save me the hassle of bringing bedsheets, pillow cases, blanket, etc. I would just sleep inside my sleeping bag on top of the provided mattress. I'm thinking that's a pretty bright idea...

I think tonight if nothing crops up, I'll just study a little, after all I'll be having exams in 2 weeks time... and also my group's having a bedside with MY Dr. Teh on the first day after the holidays.

Cheers!

My 2 nieces Tiara (L) and Crystal (R)... have not seen them in ages because they're residing in Brunei... they're here for the Raya holidays! And that's my maman (pronouced "Ma-mo" in French) on my right.

I have date at 2pm! :) No la... just our usual coffee session with Geryl, and maybe Lesley, Fely? ... after that maybe I'll go for a haircut. Want to maintain my fringe. :)

Cheers!

(L-R) Soon Ching, Doreen, Connie, Nieke, Lomyrne, Me! & Chris... What a great picture heh? Yes, we all felt like tourists (except for Chris la, whose idea it was to take pictures here)... and then the embarassing 'sakai' people of Kuching honked us when we were snapping away... so stupid. :) But really la Chris, it turned out to be such a great idea! Thanks babe!
Welcome to my new blog people!

I know I said earlier that I'm sticking to Friendster, but my ears were "painful" after a few comments from friends and also my sister, so I've decided to "move away" and start anew... only selected few would be given my new blog address... and if for some reason anyone request for it??? *PERASAN* And for those who may unfortunately stumble upon it, read at your own risk!

Ok, first of all, I would love to recommend this blog service to any aspiring bloggers or even those who are sick of their current ones... it has a very simple interface for updating and more templates than Friendster and it has this very neat program for uploading pictures and also an "add-on" to Microsoft Word, which would enable me to update my blog from the Word program itself.... and lastly, especially for my dear friend Chris, she'd be able to post comments directly to the site! :)

I'm so excited, I don't know what to do first...
