When Miss Jelly's not feeling very paranoid (when she prefers to hide in the store), she's guarding the telly.
----
Just finished a yummy slice of apple pie! Chance purchase at Satok Mita Cake House when I was over there getting my loaf of bread for breakfast tomorrow. RM2/- for a teeny slice. Not the best apple pie I've ever tasted, but it's something after so long...
Sister Siena (yes, a nun) still makes the best apple pie in the whole wide world! She's my kindy teacher, but has become a family friend. She used to make the pies quite often for my family before she was transfered to another school in Song several years ago. But she's coming back to Kuching end of this month to celebrate her 25th anniversary in the sisterhood!
Amazing, no? 25 years of celibacy! :) And the most amazing thing is she does not look like she's aged since she taught me in kindy some 20 years ago!
That's her grace from God for being a nun... :)
Have been having breakfast at home for 3 consecutive days now because I'm worried with my parents' and their fellow retired breakfast buddies' daily kolo mee, laksa and kueh chap.
It's hard enough to lose those flabs swimming 30-40laps daily! But I'm happy because my sis (who's the least merciful critic in the house) sheepishly said that I've definitely tonned up! And even more sheepishly encouraged me to "keep working" with my exercises.
You see, I'm a staunch advocate of exercise+balance diet, while she's always switching diet pills, slimming teas, laxatives, and ridiculous diets! I've always asked her to join me for a swim or go for brisk walking, but she always declined and dismissed them as "boring".
It's hard to talk sense into her. And she's also a health care provider. She has a lot of common sense, but she's just rebellious in nature. *sigh*
Whatever I planned for my morning went down the drain because a family friend's car broke down and needed repair, so my good samaritan papa offered the friend to pick him and his wife from the workshop early morning, chauffeur them around town to do some errands, and then send them back to the workshop later in the afternoon to pick up the car.
And mum had her 2pm appointment with her rheumatologist.
So I have no transport the whole day.
I was planning to go to the hair salon with mum, then catch a movie or 2 because it's movie day, then go hunting for the 2 DVDs...
So I spent my whole day updating my digital photo albums (burning the pictures in CDs and labeling them according to dates and events), replying email, cooking and washing my bags (from my traveling the other day).
Papa came home around 4pm+, luckily, just nice for me to go for a swim at 5pm. I did 26 laps, ONLY, because the 3rd swimmer who came into my lane (mine because I got there 1st) didn't streamline very well, and brushed the lateral aspect of my abdomen, on the right side. And that made me very uncomfortable, so I finished the 26th lap and hit the showers. :(
The pools are extra crowded because of the school holidays. Lots of kids just now.
After dinner, persuaded dad to drive me to Kenyalang to check look for the 2 titles...
"Little Meng-hey-ten?" the puzzled vendor cringed his forehead as he read the title from piece of scrap paper I scribbled the 2 titles...
"Sofi Skol?"...
"Dong have. But have Little Meng!" he sounded very helpful.
"Nevermind, thanks a lot!" I said quickly before he suggested any other titles... :)
I'll try Saberkas tomorrow.
Things to do tomorrow besides going to Saberkas:
1) Wake up late! (preferably around 9.30-10am)
2) Afternoon swim (preferably 2.30-4.30pm)
3) Help write letter for Julie
4) Sort out medical books and notes for sale/donation or to burn
5) Maybe go to the hair salon, if mum's still up for it
6) Maybe blog a little
7) Maybe start reading a book... saw some colourful paperbacks on my sis' shelf in her room.
That should take my whole day. :)
I wanted to blog about my dream about Philip last night but that would be too long. Maybe another post another day.
Good night people!

It's good that you're doing all those things now - you don't have much time for them after you start work. :)
Word of advice: Don't burn your notes - HAZE! ;)
Who's Philip? That gorgeous hunk from the pool? No? Have you seen him lately? hehe
Little Meng-hey-ten? LOL.......
I've also had 25 years of celibacy.shud i b celebrating? :P
ur mum goes to a rheumatologist?wer?coz my mum has back pain, joint pain, etc..she's been going for massages, but i think it wud b gud for her to go to a professional.but hvnt been able to find one.
What's that diet program! Balanced diet and exercise, gimme some tips!
All that and I can only think of Phillip! More details and don't us hanging :)
Paul
jemima: won't burn la... hehe... philip's the longest and most devastating crush i've ever had in my life! been stalking him for almost 10 years now... btw, just got "little manhattan" vcd!!! rm19.90... didn't get the dvd because it was rm59.90, way off my budget... :) showtime tonight!
bren: yeah, i just realized me too! hehe... but i don't really feel like celebrating. :( about my mum's rheumatologist, dr. teh... she's currently in sgh kuching, just came this year... my mum has rheumatoid arthritis for almost 15 years now... but don't think your mum would be able to see her before going through all the preliminary work-up because it's government... before dr. teh, my mum was under dr. boey mee leng, mt. elizabeth, singapore... you could check her out... mum liked her very much but trips down to singapore and her consultations on regular basis were incuring quite a cost, you can imagine...
savante: philip's mine!!! please please don't dream about him!!! about the "health" program (muahahaha)... diet wise, moderation lo... but exercise wise, find an activity that you would love to pieces, and make the most of it! not much of a tip lo... don't waste money on gym, if you hate stationery activities... unless you enjoy the other form of "stimulus" in the gym... heheh..
hhmm...dunno if my mum's problem is rheumatism o not...how do u start going thru d procedure tho?never knew wer to start.
bren: 2 ways.
the 1st and the best way is to get your mum's personal physician to check and diagnose her. then he could refer her directly to the rheumatologist, like in my mum's case. my mum was actually seen by a physician in normah who diagnosed her with rheumatoid arthritis, and eventually refered her to a rheumatologist for "further management". point is: the rheumatologist would only see a case that a physician already diagnosed with a rheumatological problem, or at least a provisional diagnosis, unless the case is unusual or baffling the other physicians.
2nd way is to go to the polyclinic, get seen by a medical officer, who then do would either decide to give pain killers and ask your mum to come back in a month's time, or refer her to a physician/orthopaedic surgeon, depending on his provisional diagnosis.
but 2nd way will take a looooong time. rheumatology is a little different from the other disciplines...
hey, is this the phillip I remember u telling me about: this other chick used to like him and when she saw the fluoro tube with the brand name phillips of it she went wild cos it reminded her of him?
yerdeh: don't think i've really told anyone about philip... i wanted him all to myself, so i never talk about him... who's the bimbo chick anyway? don't like her already... hehehe :)
sharon! the vcd/dvd guy is hilarious! U're hilarious! there's only one philip i know, so don't tell me it's THAT philip? tall tall fair fair, forever taking pics with him not looking at the camera but looking at the sky? painfully shy? HAHAHA... the one with the younger brother?
yerdeh: that other chick is ridiculous!! got like that wan ah?
bren: yeah, me too. singles' party with black and purple balloons anytime soon?
sharon: okie dokie...will let my mum know.
dida:can we have male strippers too?
dida: yes, that philip. nuf said. :)
gals, male strippers not my thing la...
ATHLETIC male strippers then...hahahah. :P
i forgot her name, but it was when we were in high school and she was in YCS with u? she was younger than us and when u told me that story I laughed so hard!
i vaguely remember phillip, but u also told me friend nia leh! ;)
davi, i'm soooo sorry! you're right! it's that girl victoria! you have amazing memory!!! *shy*
ohhh... vic.... that explains a lot :p
sharon: har? :D well, he's cute la... very reticent, but cute :p even nick is cute. but nick small boy. hehehe... u still keep in touch with him ar?
bren: ONLY athletic and not grossly muscular strippers need apply. preferably swimmers :p in my humble opinion, ye good maid, after much survey, male swimmers have the bestest bodies ;) and male divers the bestest 6-pack abs ;)
where is victoria now anyway? i remember she had thick long hair in a pony tail and glasses (wah, i think i just described half of st 3!!!)
yerdeh: she's in kl doing photography now the last i heard... her dad passed couple of months back so i met her when she came back.
